SOAR Running | Eco Tech T
High Tones is a Borderlands review arm that keeps premium running brands honest about their running performance claims.
TLDR
Use Cases: Running - trail, road, track - training + races.
Price: $105
Would I pay full price? Yes
Would I recommend to my best friend? Yes.
What I loved: It’s soft, elastic, but holds its shape.
True to size: Yes. I wear medium normally and this medium fit well.
What would make it better: My only note for this garment is the width of the sleeves, which I found to be a bit narrow for my arms.
Garment care: I wash it on cold, low tumble, hang dry.
Soar’s Tech Tee is described by the Founder Tim Soar as the “every day running shirt” and the shirt fits that bill. It looks clean; no obnoxious seams popping out at you, trend-chasing cuts or confusing graphics.
The tech tee revels in its simplicity.
A stark, black Soar logo appears on the left shoulder and center back.
I got mine in a dark, forest-y green color that pops against the bland background of trails coming out of Winter hibernation.

In an era where smaller brands are often introducing new takes on running tees, offering boxier cuts or abnormal silhouettes to stand out, the tech tee maintains a traditional shape.
It looks good, but it also looks like a shirt you can beat up, and over time its form will only improve as it reflects the miles you’ve put in.
You won't get bored reaching for it, especially when it performs.
The construction matches the form, with subtle design elements that make the tee perform.
Like I mentioned above, the cut of the shirt is straightforward, but the 4-panel design allows for freedom of movement while running.

The shoulder seams are pulled slightly forward so the sleeve sits nice.
The pattern is intuitive to running, allowing each part of the shirt to move with your stride in individuality.
It’s made from a recycled, lightweight mesh fabric sourced from Italy that’s equal parts soft and breathable.
The Advanced Tech T is as soft on the fifth wear as it was on the first, which is notable for running wear.
I’ve worn this shirt in a handful of different environments, both cold and hot, and the performance held up.
After finding myself drenched in sweat during one particularly humid run, I found that the fabric’s resolve keeps it from clinging to your body, even when wet.
And if the shirt does get wet, the mesh allows for quick drying and constant airflow.
Most recently, I raced a 50k in the tech tee and was not bothered at all by the shirt over all 33 miles, even when tucked into a belt and constantly adjusted.
